Saint Juan Diego lived in Mexico during the 1500s. Juan Diego was so devoted to his faith that he walked 15 miles a day to Mexico City to attend daily mass. One day, while walking to mass, the Blessed Mother appeared dressed as an Aztec princess. Maria told Juan Diego to ask the local bishop to build a church where she could appear. When Juan Diego told the bishop, he told him to ask Mary for a miracle as a way to prove that his story was true. Juan did as he was told and asked the Blessed Mother for a miracle. Maria told Juan to pick roses nearby and put them in his tilma. Juan picked the flowers and went back to the bishop. And when he opened his tilma to show the roses to the bishop, there was a beautiful image of Our Lady on it. This image can be seen today in Mexico. Juan Diego trusted the plan that God had for him. How can we show confidence in the plans God has for us?
