Prayer to preserve from poverty
(Make the sign of the Cross)Glorious Queen Saint Elizabeth, I come to ask for Your protection,
to you who never stopped attending to everyone
those who turned to Your kind heart.
The love of Jesus inflamed Your spirit of evil,
ardent Christian love, leading You to the daily practice of charity,
giving support to all who turned to you Saint Isabel,
Queen of Portugal.
Full of confidence in Your power and merit before the Most High,
I ask You, deign to protect me and my family
against the uncertainties of existence.
I ask you, Madam, that my family and I are
supported by Your protection
and may we always be safe from deprivation and embarrassment,
that never, with the grace of God and Your help,
there is a lack of bread and food on our table.
