Prayer to Our Lady of the Assumption
O most sweet sovereign, Queen of Angels, we know well that, miserable sinners, we were not worthy of possessing you in this valley of tears, but we also know that your greatness does not make you forget our misery and, in the midst of so much glory, your Compassion, far from diminishing, increases more and more toward us.
From the height of this throne where you reign over all the angels and saints, turn your merciful eyes upon us; see how many storms and a thousand dangers we will be, without ceasing, exposed to until the end of our lives! Through the merits of your blessed death, obtain for us an increase in faith, trust and holy perseverance in the friendship of God, so that we can, one day, go and kiss your feet and join our voices with those of the heavenly spirits, to praise and sing your glories eternally in heaven.
