Santa Luzia in ivory. Saint Luzia (or Saint Lucia), whose name derives from Latin, is much loved and invoked as the protector of the eyes, window of the soul, channel of light.
Prayer to Saint Luzia
Santa Luzia,
that you maintained faith and trust in God,
despite having gone through great suffering,
help me not to doubt Divine Protection,
defend me from blindness, not only physical,
but also spiritual,
and I fulfilled my request (make the request).
Keep the light in my eyes
so that I have the strength to always keep them open
for truth and justice,
and so that you can contemplate the wonders of the Universe,
the shine of the sun and the smile of children.
Oh, my dear Saint Luzia,
I thank you for listening to my plea.
