God of mercy, God of mercy, God of forgiveness, who had compassion on the affliction of your people and said to the angel who smote him, "Stay your hand", for the love of that glorious star, at whose breasts you fed to be given to us remedy against the poison of our sins, give us the help of your grace, so that we may be free from all pestilence and sudden death, and mercifully saved from all perdition. Through you Jesus Christ, King of glory, Savior of the world, who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.
