Santa Justa in ivory.

Virgin and martyr of Seville (?-300/6). Her story is associated with that of her sister Santa Rufina, both daughters of an Andalusian potter, who made a living selling earthenware on the market. As they both refused to pay homage to the god Adonis and offer sacrifices to Venus, their dishes were broken, Saint Justa was tortured and killed on the wheel and Saint Rufina was strangled. Saint Justa is the patron saint of Seville and Burgos and her relics were kept in the monastery of Las Huelgas. Both saints were chosen as patrons of the potters of Montauban, and the church of Prats-de Mollo, in Roussillon, was dedicated to them. Saint Justa is represented with clay artifacts in her hands, with broken pieces of the idols scattered at her feet. His image is represented in the tower of Seville's ancient minaret, the Giralda, which Santa Justa and Santa Rufina protected against lightning in 1504. He is venerated on July 17th.
